about me

I began studying photography when I was 14. I was fortunate to learn on 35mm film and learned to develop by hand in the darkroom while in high school and college in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I was the first in my family to finish high school and the only one to go to college in Denver where I received my BFA in Photography from Metropolitan State University.

I later moved to California to bring my passions for Cinema, Writing and Music together and I received my MFA in Film from UCLA where I studied Directing, Cinematography, Editing and Producing. I received several awards such as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Award, the MPAA award, and the Jack Nicholson Distinguished Student Director Award. The TV series, Sanity, I directed in my final year was also nominated for a student Emmy.

I live in Los Angeles and I run a small production company called Spin the Dial. I am a Cinematographer & Director for Narrative, Documentaries, Music Videos, Weddings, and Commercial content. I shoot on Kodak 16mm, Super8 as well as the Arri, Red, Canon and Blackmagic systems.
